Our old wooden bench reached the end of its life this year. It had served us proudly but had started to rot away at the feet so we decided to give it a dignified send off when the autumn set in. Durable and hardwearing the wood bench should provide us with many years of solid service if I treat it annually to a specialist type of wood preserve.
